Nsikazi/Kanyamazane Operations
   

The water purification works that supply this area has a designed treatment capacity of 75 MLD.  The water works is managed by Mbombela Local Municipality as part of the regional system also supplying surrounding areas outside Silulumanzi’s concession boundary. Silulumanzi receives the bulk supply from this regional water works for further distribution to customers in Kanyamanzane townships and peri-urban area within its concession zone. Currently an average of 27 MLD is allocated to Silulumanzi for distribution in only part of Kanyamazane.

In addition to bulk supply received from the regional system, Silulumanzi manages disinfected-boreholes that feed the rural areas of Luphisi and Mpakeni.

There are a total of 20 elevated reservoirs in town and a total of 48 tanks ranging between 5,000 and 10,000 litres holding capacity. The total capacity of the reservoirs and holdings tanks in the whole of Nsikazi operations is 47,370m3. 

Water is distributed through 388km pipeline network. There are 21 booster pump stations throughout the distribution system, 6 of these pump stations are managed by Silulumanzi. Pressure break tanks are used to control pressures in the network.  

There is 83km long waterborne sewage network throughout Nsikazi with 6 sewage pump stations. The sewer is treated at the Sewage Treatment Plant situated on the outskirts of Kanyamazane.
