The water purification works has a designed treatment capacity of 12 MLD. Currently an average of 14 MLD is purified for distribution.There are a total of 9 elevated reservoirs in Matsulu and the total capacity of the reservoirs is 17,025m3.
The town is divided in 4 zones and water is distributed through 119km pipeline network. There are 2 booster pump stations throughout the distribution system.
Pressure control valves are utilized to control pressure in the distribution network.
There is 60km long waterborne sewage network throughout Matsulu with two sewage pump stations. There are 144 septic tanks in the town with various sizes. Sewer is treated at the newly built, state of the art treatment works adjacent to the Kruger National Park.
