2019 Achievers Awards

Silulumanzi supported and took part in the annual 2019 Grade 12 Achievers’ Awards Ceremony hosted by the Department of Education, Ehlanzeni District. The ceremony is held in January to celebrate the academic achievements of learners and to honour and impart message of support to the educators, schools, circuits and to motivate learners to strive for better academic performance.

2019 Ehlanzeni Department of Education Career Expo

Department of Education in Ehlanzeni District Municipality hosted a Career Expo at the Mbombela Stadium over a five-day period, from 13 to 17 May 2019. Silulumanzi took part at the expo as an exhibitor and one of the key sponsors. The expo exposed learners to different career fields that would define and shape the road-map to a productive future to serve as good ambassadors for the City of Mbombela.


2019 National Water Week

National Water Week activities were held in March 2019, at Mbombela City, for the regional & final competitions of Grade 11 & 12’s school leaners who competed in designing a model to treat 5 litres of raw water up to a drinking water standard. The platform looks to educate learners on cost and efforts invested in supplying portable drinking water to households as well as to inspire learners to pursue careers in the water sector.

IMESA 2019

An annual conference & exhibition event promoting the sharing of knowledge and new technologies among municipal engineers and businesses in the sector is held once every two years. This event is attended by engineers and Local Government officials representing municipalities from across South Africa. South African Water Works attended the expo and officially unveiled its brand to participants who gained valuable information and insight about services delivered by this wholly owned South African company.


Innibos Parade 2019

Annual Innibos Parade & Arts Festival hosted in Mbombela City to showcase the arts & crafts of the Afrikaans culture with music, parades, dance, and food fair. Manning of a water point station and endorsing of the City of Mbombela’s safe drinkable water by Silulumanzi to participants at the festival.

Silulumanzi's Women’s Day 2019

Celebrating female employees for Women’s month by giving a picnic set to all Silulumanzi female employees, as a token of appreciation from Silulumanzi management for the role played by women in society.


Mandela Day 2019 — Betty’s Haven

Mandela Day activation support for delivery of food parcel groceries to the needy, plumbing repairs & refurbishment to Betty’s Haven, an orphanage in Mbombela City.

Mandela Day 2019 — Thembela Homebased Care

Silulumanzi overseas the handover of a donation of a 2200LT JoJo water tanker with a built-in stand. Brand new 3-plate gas stove and food grocery parcels donated to Thembela Homebased Care, in Matsulu on 18 July 2019.


Matsulu Plant Visit

Matsulu Primary Schools plant visit in February 2019 to Matsulu Water Treatment Plant, to equip leaners with knowledge on water purification processes and sewerage treatment processes as well as advise learners on ways to save water and care for the environment.

MOZAMBIQUE Cyclone Idai AID

Media photoshoot of donated water from Silulumanzi for the transfer relief aid to Beira from Mbombela City via Matola in April 2019. The contribution helped to meet the immediate needs for safe drinking water in the worst-affected areas of Mozambique following Cyclone Idai.

UNISA CAREERS FAIR 2019

Unisa Careers Fair Expo 2019 Event held at City of Mbombela Municipal Civic Theatre on 07 August 2019 to help students connect with companies and organisations in preparing them for the field of their career choices.

Mandela Day 2020

Celebrating Mandela Day and making every minute count to those in need: Silulumanzi partnered with Imbumba Foundation to activate the “Caring4Girls Campaign” on the 16th & 17th of July 2020, at the following schools; Chief Charles Secondary School in Mpakeni; Sidungeni High School in Luphisi; Siligane Secondary School in Siligane village; and Letsakutfula Primary school in Matsulu.

The aim of the campaign is the distribution of the much-needed sanitary towels to schoolgirls, who often miss school during their menstrual cycles due to the lack of sanitary pads. The gift of sanitary pads, to these girls from disadvantaged backgrounds, aims to protect the dignity of the girls and avoid interruption of their education.
